Animals are great and even if I wasn’t a fan, living with a horde of the critters would certainly change my mind. The kittens have been spoken about elsewhere on this blog before, my favourite of which is still Mr Boffles:
Here he is, attempting to line up with mum Alut and uncle Rambo, in what I assume is a homage to the opening scene of the magnificent 2001: A Space Odyssey. As mentioned before, he enjoys gangster movies and the music of Louis Armstrong. Since then he feels confident enough to run at Rambo and be mercilessly pawed at in return, as well as meowing at Die Hard 3, dramatic stunts are expected from this little one.
Our latest new edition – a dog this time, just to mix things up – which arrived yesterday is this little lady, Rexie:
Having spent little over a day with her, I can confirm she likes the taste of slippers, nibbling Rambo’s tale and disappearing at various times to make me worried that she has wandered off somewhere. Now that we are up to six animals, life is getting more interesting both in and out of the house.
Guinea Pigs would round out the menagerie nicely.

That would create chaos amongst the cats and dogs, if another pet has to be added, I may encourage stick insects.

Actually, they may think the pigs are a ready snack. I once kept an aquatic snail as a pet. A default after the fish passed on. Very low maintenance. Undemanding as well.

I like your thinking there. I think the cats and dogs would spend more time fighting over the guinea pig than knocking it around.

Ohhh, Steve, they are beautiful! I could very easily lose my heart to both of them 🙂

They are gorgeous, a handful but they always raise a smile. I hope they go on to have their own TV show where they fight crime.

Sounds like you are kept busy looking after all those animals all day!

It sure is, I make sure I am always keeping active, whether with looking after the animals or any of the other things that I am determined to do. I love the challenge and the days are long but good.

So adorable. Six seems like a good number. I’m madly in love with the kitten and the new puppy is so cute. Love your dogs and cats. Congratulations on the new addition.

Thank you, six is manageable, I am content to stop but I find I never quite know what is going to happen each day so I never rule anything out. When they are this cute, I don’t mind.

I’m not a lover of reading, Ste J, but, I luv these cuties! Having three little dogs myself I know how they can make you believe you are in control when really…. not..
So I’ll join the party if only to view your ‘other’ posts.. I deem this the ‘other’… 🙂

These beasts can manipulate me too easily, I fear haha. I aim for at least one non book post a week, more if I have time to fit everything in. Thanks for visiting!

My cat used to like watching snooker on TV but they don’t show it any more. It used to sit on top of the box, swiping at the balls on the screen. You see, every sport has its followers.

An old classic, cats love it! I miss watching Snooker, a sport that welcomes your sleep participation.

When you can envision them romping around your house, you know you are in trouble!

Their is no imagination required, there is only calm whenever I walk to the kitchen and they all intensely follow me with their eyes to see if I am about to dish food up. When I do, they gobble it and circle me like vultures hoping to get some of mine…it can be unnerving sometimes not knowing where they will strike from.

So cute! My, doesn’t Rexie have an eye for the camera?

I think I made a noise as she was trying to sleep but I should start a modelling portfolio for her.

Wonderful, a household with 6 animals! So that’s how the expression came about “It’s six of one and half a dozen of the other”! I envy you your fun, but right now I’m a one-pet woman, and my cat is a one-person cat (though she adores my mom, and would be friends, but mom’s not a cat person, sadly. They agree to disagree peacefully, though).

Fun is not precisely the term for it but it is rewarding sometimes (when I am not trying to write). I miss Bella but it is nice to have such a diverse bunch of crazies here.

Did Bella at least find a nice home with your parents, or someone else you love, or like, or feel close to?

Bella is with the parents, she heard me on Skype the other week but isn’t bright enough to look at the screen where I was frantically waving.

Don’t kid yourself, she is jealous and resentful of your new menagerie, and is deliberately playing stupid to give you the cold shoulder. She’s not heard of all the horrible mistaken re-routings and etc. that happen to pets on planes, and wonders why she didn’t end up going with you!

I feel sorry for pets, they must go mental on planes. I think she would like the animals here but not the heat. What am I saying, six is enough, thank you!

That makes my job easier as Rexie isn’t trained yet and thinks anywhere is game, for a pee including electrical wires I notice. She did backwards roll off the bed the other day though so she gets let off thanks to her comedy effect.

I love those ears on Mr. Boffles! I’ll be looking forward to a new Animal Farm book about them.

A political rant in this climate? I would have to make sure I ticked all the right boxes or face censorship! I will just stick to there comedy adventures of barking at reflections and rolling off of cushions.

Lots of things are happening, I am trying to keep to a schedule to do a bit of each, each day and find a way to squeeze more in. The animal help with distracting me from getting too serious.

It wasn’t curiosity that killed the cat, it was cuteness. Or is that what killed the internet?

Haha! Yeah! We used to have 5 dogs, 2 cats, and, for a little while, we were bottle feeding a pig that had been stepped on by his mother in the house… My dog Lady would play with it and snuggle with it, it was sooooo cute!

That is so heart warming, animals are so happy to just to have friends to play and snuggle with. We can learn a lot from them.
