The Whisper
A rustle, displacing anticipatory silence
Words barely made out, hinting at enticing possibilities
The gentle breeze of impassioned words, sighed
Coated with sweet passionate pledges
The gentle purr of promises
Seductive susurration
Raising goosebumps
Tempestuous images flow
A sweet and swirling murmur
Conjuring intimate images, crashing through the mind
The frenzied beating of a heart in ecstatic turmoil
The aural effect setting aflame desires
Silence settles, ripples subside,
The calm before the eager storm…

No whispering please, we’re British. And hard of hearing.

The inner British in me had me hovering over the publish button for a while, I consider this a major turning point.

That is why there is so much crimson on the blog, it’s a message hidden in plain sight, plus an anagram of my name is hussy if you add a few letters and ignore a few.

Surely you JeSt. Which is also an anagram of your name, incidentally.

I am so so late to the game here but this reminds me of the morecambe and wise sketch where morecambe says ‘I played all the right notes, just in tje wrong order’.

Great minds and all that. I would have had this out last week but then failed miserably but it was better that way as I thought of better words which always makes for a better read.

Yowzer! I have missed too many of your posts so I head over here to make amends and read this and was not expecting it at all and, well…amazing poem Ste…I love it…

I thought I would mix it up with a brief foray into some steaminess, I would hate to be predictable. I like to think I can inspire and not necessarily with just words.

This painted a very sexy yet violent scene for me. I’m liking it.

Why thank you, I wanted it to be anticipatory and everybody has their own ideas on what those whispers are…violent I think is too stronger word perhaps (editor’s hat on), I prefer frenzied.

Uh-oh! I think this wonderful poem is evidence that our Ste J is getting spring fever, with a vengeance! (Not that vengeance, except of a provocative kind, seems to have anything to do with it). Little did I know when I asked for another poem a couple of weeks ago that our guy would be getting into such mischief, at least in words (I’m tempted to say, “It’s time for some memoir”).

I do like to keep going in directions contrary to my usual byways and rabbit runs. Memoir is something that comes in dribs and drabs on here but I am not a big talker about myself, it is a challenge unless it is book related or places I went but that usually ties into my blog writings as well. My life has only been anything close to interesting since I got the blog, perhaps it is getting to the time when I should do something drastic, just to up the surprise quota for this year.

Now that I’ve had a cold shower, I’d like to say I enjoyed your poem, lots! Poetry could be a useful tool in a book, a book that is not a poetry book. Don’t you think?

I certainly do think so my friend, it’s a great vehicle to explore themes in a short space of words and can be just as intense. Glad you like my effort.

Great poem, dear Ste…. I love the progression from whispers to silence … and vice versa …
Purrs and susurration… I can picture a whole frame of situation here…
`The calm before the eager storm´…Sigh ♥
You should write more poems, my friend…. I truly liked it… no surprises, considering how much you love reading… – the best school- đŸ˜‰

I shall see where inspiration takes me next poetry wise, it is good to write although I have to have an idea that motivates me before I start, I am working on being better at that though. Reading is the best, teaching me words that I can put together, I love learning! I hope your weekend is joyful and that muchos fun is had.

WOW, very sensual, just one line brought out a lot of feelings for me. Love it. Cant believe at one time you told me you were ‘not a writer’ in this sense, just a reader.
