When the Bubble Bursts

05 Jun

~~~~
Chemical reactions create perfect bubbles.
The reality of a dream encased in each…
of a thousand worlds soaring through air and liquid.
Unique abstractions encapsulated in fleeting moments…
before dissipating into the ether.
Where the bubbles burst,
the oneiric wonders gravitate towards the inventive imaginations of the thoughtful.
The creative,
a natural home for chimeras of the most astonishing kind.
Somewhere there is one such place I know…
A Dreamscape,
containing infinite mysteries, more than one imagination can envision.
A region not yet fully grasped,
of epeiric seas and mountains, looming over spectacular vistas of forest and ruins,
where I am equally at home yet conversely a foreigner in that land.
Perpetually reinvented over time, I long to be there evermore,
To find my way to a place where I can become saturated in that world and lose myself forever.
          I blame the books, they give me words and the ideas I get coalesce around them, they are both symbiotic…I blame my mind for having to analyse everything, constantly, it’s become an obsession.
            No, it’s you. The words come from you, not books.
    Ste J, this is beautifully written. But I admit that you had me with some of the words. ๐Ÿ™‚
      I came across oneiric in a book and it fitted into the idea I already had and when I spellchecked the post, it didn’t recognise the word but asked if I meant epeiric. I decided to put that in as well as it was a nice mirroring and I like new words that help me express ideas and add to my vocabulary. I’m glad you like it, I really do mean to write more like this…I know i’ve promised it for years but I’m promising it again.
    Lovely, but I don’t want you to disappear into that other world! We need you here! Seriously, nice.
      I try to straddle both planes of existence, it is tempting to disappear but unless I could bring this world with me (well the good bits and people) then I will have to make do with flitting. it occurs to me to bring a reality into a Dreamscape, I would have to turn reality inside out and that would probably cause a lot of collateral damage and I’d to be responsible for that.
        Yes, I can see the Dr. Who influence–all about turning reality inside out and etc. You’ve obviously been with the good doctor in spirit a lot, at least.
          You know me well, I do like to dabble in the mysteries of other realities and sometimes in front of the TV as well. I do love endlessly fascinating concepts like time.
      I do try, I am always looking for ideas, my observational skills seems to fail me when I hunt for ideas. That’s another one of life’s mysteries right there.
        I joined a poetry group where we winter in So. Cal and didn’t enjoy it. Each week we were given a word and then were asked to write a poem pertaining to that word. I have learned that I cannot write on demand. Nor can I write on a topic that doesn’t resonate with me.
          I agree, I have attempted to pick something and write about it but without that seed of an idea, of the enthusiasm then it just isn’t the same and feels artificial. I admire people who can write from a prompt as I know many can and do.
        I have two friends that went there on business once. They said they were driving on a road & suddenly – with no warning – a sign appeared the road ended.
        The sign read: End of the road.
      It was actually based on my remembrance of an old Guinness advert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6deYNEFi1lc the original advert looped twice which was better and had more of Louis Armstrong’s song as well but the YouTube quality of that is poor, this one is better bit only half the length. Make sure you have the quality high if it doesn’t automatically do so.
        No wonder it sparked your imagination! If more commercials were that way on TV, I wouldn’t hate them so much! lol I’ve come to truly abhor advertising, in general : / This was beautiful, though…so fantastical and reminiscent of Lord of the Rings ๐Ÿ˜€
