Droning on About That Cave

After posting about the wonders of our world a couple of posts back, I noticed that it had actually become quite topical as a video by Ryan Deboodt was ‘trending’ all over the web.  Utilising some neat time-lapse photography and a drone to capture the beauty of the world’s largest cave Hang Son Doong.

As well as being a look at the spectacular beauty of the place, it is nice to see drones being used for things other than for a military purpose.  The scale is as one would expect awe-inspiring, if you have a few minutes, this is a wonderful way to take some time out of your day.

    1. It is indeed, if I could only describe it in two words I would opt for those doyens of the unimaginative ‘nice’ and ‘good’.

    1. I’m not always a fan of technology but when it is put to such use as this to show how amazing natural architecture can be, I can’t fault it.

    1. That right there is the future of documentary making and will give us access to remoter areas of the planet, there is the possibility of so much more discovery, it’s awesome!

  1. Ste J, thank you SO much for posting this. I’m having a bad time of things and this was a good way to spend my time at a time I’m not sure how I should spend it : / I’d seen a few pics of this last year, I believe, and it was amazing, but the video really captures how awe-inspiring it is!

    1. I’m glad I could help, would you believe me if I said that secretly I was just waiting to post this when I somehow knew you would be down? I thought not! I think the video is like a little bubble of wonderment that briefly transports you to somewhere timeless and make things feel a little better.
