Irresistible Aural Reclamation

###

A song triggers off the beginnings of a thought

a memory of time stood still

where everything was amazing…

wrapped in that cocoon

####

experiences enriching the long road to understanding

familiar intimacy relived…

to virtual pleasurable destruction

reminiscences of time and place, vivid and warm

imprinted on my skin.

There was a certain amount of stick poking in all honesty but what is life without a stick?

You’ve been nominated for my “Best Use of an Epic Sigur Ros Song in a WordPress Blog Post.”

My wife and I had that on the playlist for the birth of our son. Alas, we never got past the Dirty Three’s Ocean Songs…the baby came quick!

Yay for awards! Sigur Ros are so versatile, I will have to check out the other though for they are unknown to me.

I sat back in my chair and just listened and watch how beautiful nature really is. I wanted to walk that path, touch those trees (Yep, tree hugger) Haha and go visit that house and have tea. Tea because it looks so cold outside. Hmmmm or maybe Bourbon. Pffft Either either. 🙂
hope all is well in your world! Hugs from OZ, Paula xxxx

Tea, hot cocoa or ribena would be lovely. It is a perfect song for pretty much any season but especially winter. I am well and just being a Ste J…I hope you are keeping cool, now I think about it that video probably made you jealous of the northern hemisphere’s weather. xx

Cocoa, now that’s something I haven’t had since forever!
Yummy. 🙂 Bed time, nite nite! Hugs Paula xxx

Nice poem. Wow. You really write well. The imagery. The piece has good movement.
Never heard of Sigur Ros, though.

You are missing a treat with the mighty Sigur Ros. First heard the in the local rock pub…well it became an ‘alternative’ pub and haven’t looked back since. It took me ages to get the last line…but if it pleases thee then it was worth the wait!

I will look on youtube for more of their songs. I like the moody kind of alt rock, but that probably comes as no surprise.
The poem is really good. You have a way with words. Keep it going. I feel like poetry is the soul speaking the poet’s truth. I find you to be a real gentleman and your poetry backs that up. You’re a good egg.

I think it complements rock, well on those days when you need a chill out that is.

I will keep it up, although I’m a bit of a novice at this creative writing malarkey. I like to think I hold doors open for people and all that other gentlemanly stuff, happily I am not a diary based gentleman though, I would move like a weeble when I walked.

You paint quite vivid and poignantly powerful sensations with your choice of words…and music. Perfect combination! I am happy to see you writing your thoughts/musings….I believe it is safe to say that we all love it when you do and look forward…anticipatiously…to more… xxxxxx

It is great to see you around again! It’s been a while but conversely not that long for me..ha! I thought you would enjoy the combo and doubly happy with the encouragement that you have been barraging (in a good way) me with. I shall get working on more to delight and/or bemuse you with…perhaps in equal measure! xxxxxx

Hmmm…delight and bemuse me….in this you have already succeeded! Am happy to be back (sort of) again….I have much to catch up with here at my second home (WP)! I am all ways on hand to barrage you and encourage you to keep up with your personal writing….if my words aren’t enough…I am sure all these wonderful comments should tip the scales on the “please give us more” side… xxxxxx

I am happy to be part of your second non taxable home, where there is always a coffee waiting and a bit of peace and quiet…kind of. Your words are always more than encouraging and there is much underlining by all the other comments. It is great to be encouraged so i cannot let you guys down..I am committed, but not in a certifiable sense! xxxxxx

Wow Ste J, there is such passion in your poem. I am so glad the stick poking worked and that it has begun an outpouring of more such prose. I have never heard of this artist before and find it to be quite beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing and please continue. 🙂

I have finally got what you guys have been saying for a bit, so I am intrigued to further explore my capacity for language and thoughts. I shall carry on poking around and see what else I can stir up.
