Beautiful Juxtaposition…

beneath_the_stars_by_dee_t-d51dfdr

~*~

Silence pervades the cold dark night, in this peace…

I think of you.

I gaze at the stars and their associated wonders.

I think of you

~*~

The last email of my day has flown across the ether,

A sense of melancholy at the broken connection.

A new day beckons, I cannot contain myself,

I should sleep, though it seems a waste when you are in my world.

~*~

I sit alone and smile

I think of you.

I dare to dream of realities unrealised

I think of you.

~*~

Sensual beginnings to a day’s end, a beautiful juxtaposition,

A wondrous sense of magic flows in me, ancient and unknowable.

Is this what others understand?

No, not like this…nothing can be like this.

~*~

I think of you.

    1. Thanks, I wrote it some months ago and have recently been encouraged to put it out there, believe it or not, it only took me ten minutes to write. The muse was with me that day, methinks.

  1. Someone is very fortunate to have inspired feelings so gentle and at the same time so powerful. My muse is irking me right now (but then, my muse is only sometimes a real person, and is sometimes just an inspiration that provokes me to write). Keep your hand in at writing poetry; I think it’s good for us all to say things this way, with an added grandeur and awareness of the whole human universe.

    1. ‘an added grandeur and awareness of the whole human universe’. That is a lovely phrase, proving that your muse (in whichever guise) is still hanging around in the shadows like a subtle ninja. I think I will try my hand occasionally at some poetry and hopefully achieve the same favourable results again. I think I am the fortunate one though to have someone who can inspire such words…

                1. I have had some random name called me I must admit, perhaps I should just change my name to Ste J that would make things easier. I am a Stephen originally, which eventually evolved into Steve and then due to my love of all things minimalist, finally to Ste J. I’m not really a fan of minimalism i get sad when I don;t get much bacon on my plate.

Life is a test, which is probably a profound quote from a cheesy sci-fi film…if you are reading this Christina can you shed any light, you seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of sci-fi quotes. I do like minimalism sometimes but I do need a generous helping of bacon. Perhaps I shopuld just change my name to Ste to make your computer happy?

Maybe Christina will validate with the sci-fi quote! Yes your bacon is my Cadbury Chocolate bars (solid milk) — lol ~ but like you I am a minimalist at heart. All good “young man” đŸ™‚ & a very well-read talented one at that!

                    3. Talent is as talent does…or something like that. What I mean to say is that you are an awesome talent, one that should be looking to be published, i am sure that has been mentioned to you before?! Cadbury eh? Your chocolate is usually different to ours, taste wise, so I looked up the ingredients: Cadbury Dairy Milk from Bournville, UK
Milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, vegetable fat, emulsifiers,

Cadbury Dairy Milk from Hershey, USA
Sugar, milk, chocolate, cocoa butter, lactose, soy lecithin, PGPR, natural and artificial flavor.

I know I need to get out more, I just find it interesting to compare, I thought….

                  2. So yes — I notice a distinct difference between the US Cadbury bars and the UK Cadbury bars! It is easy to purchase the UK product through Amazon – though I understand from my daughter who travelled to England last year that there are so many more coveted chocolates than this there – and CB is merely commonplace (like Hersey is here). To be honest though — i like CB better than lots of more upscale US chocolates I’ve had. How funny – I did exactly what you did (compared the ingredients) long time back. Amazing to see UK produces a more pure product (cleaner)… đŸ™‚

Ok ~ now on the other lovely reply re: my talent – you are way too kind– I am just “playing” on my blog – you know … art therapy and all that.. I don’t expect to publish, though you and several others have succeeded at causing me a ‘big head’ on this mention! Very touched at the warm reception I have received by everyone here at WP. It’s a nice place to be for me!!!
Thank you Ste J!! đŸ™‚ Love to you ~ đŸ™‚ RL

                    1. Cadbury is a very popular name and everywhere stocks them, they are a staple of life here I guess, Never thought to much about it but yes it is just an average bar. Interestingly the Swiss have a more pure product than we do, so perhaps that may tempt your palate….

You should think about it though, even if it self publishing, you do write fantastically well and it is always exciting to see a new post, everyone is doing it these days, join the crowd and get yourself out there. I demand it, please.

                  3. Thank you most kindly for your ‘demanding it please’ đŸ™‚ will think about – promise ~ but probably not for a bit. It would be nice I think – even just as a way to make material what is otherwise virtual. As for the more pure Swiss product — you must tell me which brand to try – do you have a favorite?

                    1. I confess that I don’t go in for much chocolate these days, although there is a stash, was a stash, I left over in the US. I think publishing woyld go beyond just making virtual material into something physically substantial, your words have the power to change a person’s thought processes and perspectives on the things and people around them. It is a gift indeed. Your readers are right (and writers!) you have muchos talent and you deserve to be more recognised.

                    2. Ok then ~ will research the Swiss variety soon -and let you know! I’m staying away a bit too – it’s summer here ya know – and I live in beach community.

You are super generous with your compliments … but you know, I had not written creatively since college (decades ago) ~ so this is all just play … and exploration for me. I confess, I am a bit of a deep and sensitive soul – and do like the psyche stuff… in addition the pain and what I live daily has made me highly intuitive in many senses – so perhaps that has enhanced my writing and photography some… I often think I am a little big of an alien. Well – I’ll stop there – with: Thank You !! I will consider for sure – and sooo appreciate — x RL
