Morn (and evening) in the USA Part the Final

At some point, I demanded, nay expected to go and have a classic American Burger, my only criteria being that I’d like something to see me through the day, instead it kept me full for two whole days.  To begin with though you have to start off with the ordeal that is the choice, we don’t get that in England, you pick your meal and you eat it.  The unwritten rules clearly state that you may ask for something to be taken off your meal but that is all.

Imagine my surprise when Christina asks for half the stuff to be taken off hers and a lot more stuff be added, thus changing the entire burger to something else not actually on the menu.  What insanity is this?   Then I was assailed from all angles with choice: different sides, extra stuff, desserts, how I liked things done. I was ready for the food after that trial.

When I was asked if I wanted Jo Jos, I had to query what they actually were, then immediately fall back on the old apology, “sorry, I’m English”, which in all fairness C. got in there first.  Quite a few times.  Sometimes a bit to quickly.  I hasten to add I didn’t ask what they were when they came out, I asked at the menu stage, for I have seen a potato before, even around where I live in Mansfield.

At one point C. asked me to remind her to go to Walgreens, so naturally being annoying and a tad lazy, I reminded her there and then and afterwards proceeded to exclaim Walgreens! at random intervals in public places, if I had money, I would be eccentric but being poor I am just seen as yet another crazy person pottering around America, it almost felt like home.

Really though the best bit was the people, a proper awesome bunch of people, be it Jordan, Emma, Jack, Christina, Penny and assorted animals, or the other awesome people I met, fisherman Max, English Elaine and disappearing Dennis, it was an absolute blast and I miss them all, naturally.

Of course biggest plaudits to my fellow bloggers, P & C for inviting me over and getting me back into the groove of writing and more importantly enjoying it more than ever, you guys are the inspiration behind many of the posts popping up in the coming months betwixt and between some book reviews which will surface in roughly exactly three posts time.

Will I go back again and sample the delights of America, I sure will, it remains a matter of money or indeed if anyone can get me a Visa, for which I am willing to pay $10 cash.

Those eagle eyed readers will have noticed the lack of a mention about the plane travel and the books, those two will be up next to conclude my American diaries proper.   Here’s a cute picture to finish on today to make everyone a bit happier.
